Health Exams

A yearly exam is the best preventative medicine to ensure that your pet is happy, healthy, and by your side for many years. At your pet’s appointment one of our certified veterinary technicians or veterinary assistants will take a thorough health history. Our doctors will then do a thorough physical exam. If there are any abnormalities found, we will discuss it with you and give you options for treatment. Read More

Senior Care

Just as people are now living longer lives, so are our pets. While this is wonderful, we see more age related disease. Common health issues include arthritis, dental disease, periodontal disease, heart disease, kidney or liver changes, cancer and senility. Senior pets should be examined twice a year in order to assess their overall health and address any changes in their habits, mobility, or disposition. If pain and arthritis are a concern, we can formulate a pain plan that may include both drug and non-drug options to help your pet find relief. Read More

Vaccinations

Vaccines are another very important part of your pet’s preventative care program. With proper vaccination your pet can easily avoid many serious health afflictions. Hill-Dale follows the American Animal Hospital Association’s vaccine protocols. Cats and dogs have specific core vaccines (vaccines strongly recommended for all pets) and non-core vaccines (vaccines that may be recommended depending on a pet’s specific lifestyle). Our team will help you decide which vaccines are necessary for your pet and set up a schedule for the vaccines to be given. Read More

Dental Care

Your pet’s oral health is very important to their overall health. Oral disease can cause discomfort for your pet. If untreated harmful bacteria from the mouth can spread to your pet’s heart, liver and kidneys. Our dental procedure is much more than a “cleaning”. The veterinarian will complete an oral exam and then design a treatment plan for your pet. During the dental, your pet will be under general anesthesia, intubated and monitored, to provide the safest possible procedure. We first scale and polish your pet’s teeth. Digital dental x-rays are performed to determine if any extractions are necessary. If any are needed they will be done at this time and your pet will receive pain medications beforehand and a pain control plan for home. At your dental discharge we will discuss preventative options to help improve your pet’s future oral health. Read More

Microchipping

Every year millions of dogs and cats get lost. A pet who is microchipped is much more likely to be returned home.
