Dr. Mara Doughty Seals - Veterinarian/Owner
I joined Hill-Dale Veterinary Care in January 2004, became partner in 2006, and full owner in 2016. After completing my undergraduate studies at UW-Madison, I earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996 from Iowa State University. I completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC in 1997. I moved to Wisconsin and practiced in Marinette for several years before falling in love this part of the state.
I enjoy internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry and animal behavior. My memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association. I have done committee work for several years for the National Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. In my spare time, I am a gym rat and love to cycle when the weather cooperates. My husband and I adore Baraboo and all the cool people we are lucky enough to meet.
Dr. Sara Sholts - Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Sholts is a Wisconsin native that grew up in Madison, WI and has been a lifelong animal lover. Since she was young, Dr. Sholts has been surrounded by animals of all sizes. In addition to dogs, cats, gerbils, and mice, she has ridden, trained, and shown horses of all breeds and disciplines. After completing get Bachelor of Science degree from UW-Whitewater, her passion for working with animals lead her to work as a Certified Veterinary Technician and Animal Medical Services Supervisor for Dane County Humane Society. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UW- Madison. After graduation, Dr. Sholts worked in small animal and equine medicine in the UP of Michigan. While she loved being "up north", she missed being close to family and returned to the Wisconsin Dells area where she has practiced ever since.
Dr. Sholts lives with her husband and daughter, 2 cats, and 2 horses. When not working, she can be found trail riding her horses, hiking in the outdoors, reading a good book, or knitting.
Dr. Michael Dobbert - Associate Veterinarian
I am a life-long Wisconsin resident and have loved working with animals for over 20 years. Previously, while earning my undergraduate degree from the UW-Madison, I worked at the Milwaukee County Children’s Zoo. I then conducted research for multiple years before deciding to return to school and obtain my DVM. I have greatly enjoyed practicing small animal medicine in the Baraboo area for the past several years. I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Information Network.
When not at the hospital, I enjoy the beautiful Baraboo area by hiking, biking, camping, grilling and gardening at home. My wife, toddler daughter, newborn son and I share our home with two cats, Tony and Maxine, as well as Rococo, a Shepherd-Lab mix, and Ralphie, a brindle Pug-French Bulldog mix.
