Dr. Carl Schellenberger
Veterinarian/Co-Owner

I grew up
just outside North Freedom and attended Reedsburg High School.
I graduated from Iowa State University in 1974. I practiced for
one year in Tomah, WI before returning to the Baraboo area to open my own
practice, "Schellenberger Veterinary Clinic," in 1975. This business,
started in a converted garage, grew in stages over the years to become Hill-Dale
Veterinary Hospital.
I personally specialize in dentistry and knee surgeries.
The hospital’s emphasis is complete physical exams and proactive medicine
rather than reactive.
I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Wisconsin Veterinary
Medical Association and I am very active in my church. I enjoy golfing,
camping and hunting deer in Colorado. My wife, Grace, and I have
been married almost 35 years and have two married children.

Dr. Mara E. Doughty
Veterinarian/Co-Owner

I joined
Hill-Dale Veterinary Hospital in January 2004, and became a partner
on January 1, 2006. I moved to Baraboo from Marinette, WI where
I practiced companion animal medicine for six years. After completing
my undergraduate studies at UW-Madison, I earned a doctor of veterinary
medicine degree in 1996 from Iowa State University. I completed
my internship at the Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC.
Currently I am working to obtain certification with the American Board
of Veterinary Practitioners.
I enjoy internal medicine, dermatology, animal behavior and
ultrasonography. My memberships include the American Veterinary
Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the
Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association. I am also a committee
member of the National Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
I enjoy golfing and boating with my two boxers, Bubba and Gunner
(see them on the Featured Pets page). In Marinette I was active in the local Rotary
Club, the Chamber of Commerce, Boys & Girls Club, Tri-County Dog
Training Club and the Spokes and Folks bicycle club.

I joined
the staff at Hill-Dale in 1990. I have been married for forty
years and I have two children, two grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, cooking and watching Green
Bay Packer Football. I also enjoy Badger football and basketball.

I have been
here at Hill-Dale since 1997. I am married to Tim and I enjoy my
three children, two step children and six grandchildren. My home
zoo includes two dogs, three cats, and a bearded dragon.
I enjoy spending time outdoors camping, hunting and hiking.
My hobbies include painting and drawing.

2002. My wife Sarah and I are the proud parents of Taylor Renee,
born on August 17th! We have two cats,
Lucy & Linus.
I enjoy disc golf, bowling, reading, writing and watching all
sports!

I joined
Hill-Dale in June of 2004 after moving back to Baraboo. My husband,
Jeff and I were living in the Philadelphia area before returning to
my home town. We are the proud parents of Ava Grace, born 3/20/07.
We have a large "herd" of feline and equine friends, too numerous
to mention names!
I enjoy spending time with all of the above! I love the
peace and quiet offered by this quaint town. I am happy to be
back in Baraboo, closer to my family. I am especially close each
day of the work week as Dr. Schellenberger is my father!

joined Hill-Dale in May of 2005. I moved to Reedsburg from Central
Minnesota in 2003. I was a technician in the northern suburbs
of Minneapolis for 17 years. I love my job and have always enjoyed
working with animals and the people who love them!
I love the outdoors, fishing, camping and spending time with
my husband and our 4 children. We are always busy with soccer,
t-ball and swimming lessons! We also have two wonderful family
cats, Sophie and Bernie who will be turning 17 this year and still doing
well!

I joined Hill-Dale in May of 2005 after moving
to Baraboo in September of 2004. I have been in the Veterinary
field for 16 years and have been a Certified Veterinary Technician for
9 years.
I enjoy spending time with my husband of 32 years, our 2 horses,
5 house cats and 2 barn cats. In our free time, we ride and camp
with the horses and work in our garden.

husband and I have enjoyed living in the Baraboo Bluffs for ten years.
We have been married 28 years and have two daughters, two dogs and
four chickens.
I enjoy gardening,
camping, reading, sewing quilts, painting, and taking long walks with
my two dogs, Addie and Sweetie.

joined Hill-Dale in September of 2006. I grew up in the area and
am happy to be back! I have 2 wonderful feline companions, Mabel
and Claire and a Labrador Retriever named Albert.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, biking, camping, and horseback riding.
I also enjoy taking long walks with Albert.

in December of 2007. I hail from Superior, Wisconsin and after 15 years
in the military, found myself in Baraboo. I have a son, Dustin and
consider the two Hill-Dale cats, Sammy and John-John my pets!
